§ Case Study / 01 — Fulcrum GT

Fulcrum GT

A stealth product earns its runway one review at a time. I own the number.

Role
Business Associate · Value case owner
Year
2026 — Present
Venue
Startup Lab venture incubator
Cadence
Monthly pitch, executives + outside investors
§ 01The Situation
Inside Fulcrum's venture lab, a stealth product earns its runway one review at a time. Every month it stands in front of executives and outside investors who have watched a hundred hockey sticks flatten. Someone has to own the number that walks into that room.
§ 02The Bet
A number survives the room when the assumption underneath it is one the buyer already believes. So the model is built bottom-up, from costs the audience has already paid and problems they already know they have. By the time I present, the persuasion is already done.
§ 03The Work
The model earns its keep in a monthly review. What it's built from:
  1. Built the value model on buyer-believed baselines.Every input traces to a cost the audience already recognizes. No industry-report multipliers doing load-bearing work.
  2. Ran the sensitivity pass before the room could.Find which assumptions actually swing the outcome, then name the weakest one out loud before anyone else does.
  3. Preregistered the assumptions to retire. The case ships with its own kill criteria. Evidence replaces estimates on a schedule, and the model updates or the work stops.
  4. Pitched monthly, rebuilt monthly.Every objection from executives and investors goes back into the model. The version in the room is never last month's version.
§ 04The Outcome
The case cleared the room. The build is green-lit, and the product premieres at ILTACON in Nashville in August 2026, the legal industry's flagship technology conference. The model that earned the runway now has a stage and a date.

The lab's clock. The case had to hold at every checkpoint.

Trevor is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable business people, not just in this space, but that I've worked with anywhere. He works incredibly fast and commands a room.

§ 05 — Over Coffee

My favorite slide is the one that lists how we could be wrong. A number you can't kill isn't a number. It's a wish.

— My favorite part of the job, honestly.
